Default Anyone else notice that there are more luxury clothing

brands advertising on TELEVISION? in the past few months i have seen Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior, and many other luxury brand commericals on television. I have never noticed this before though...is this a way for our government to raise our GDP ...trying to get us into spending tons of money so that we don't fall into a recession?anyone else find it interesting?like any of the commercials?=Pjeebus and vale -- good points!

I haven't noticed those brands advertised. But it could definitely be what you're suggesting.

Yes, I have been noticing that! Actually, I just commented to my dad the other night about how I'd never seen a commercial for Porsche before this one that they've been airing lately (I know it's not luxury clothing, but it's been a definite increase in advertising luxury everything) and he made a good point--these things are becoming more and more accessible to people based on income and payment plans that are available, and in the case of luxury clothes, people can always just put it on a credit card and pay it off later.

There are lots of luxury clothing brands everywhere. It's been that way for a while, and I don't believe it has anything to do with the government. A lot of magazines use those brands because they probably do believe that it's the best clothing they can find. The commercials are made by those companies, and they spend and receive lots of money. What other better way to use it than to advertise and get more?
