Mainly because of their iPod products. However, there is a perception that Apple is making all the right moves, improving OS X, switching to Intel chips, designing very appealing products in both desktop and laptop areas. Apple has mastered the art of product hype and publicity, while spending their money efficiently.

In addition to the IPOD, there are studies showing a small conversion rate to MAC OS by IPOD buyers. The MAC market is slowly inching up...it's no where close to the windows dominance in the PC market but it's moving in the right direction. Apple is notorious for their innovation of cool and new products.

Recently it's been going up because
#1 - the market is going up
#2 - anticipation in new products from MacWorld
#3 - good earnings to be announced in a few weeks

However, it's hard to say if it'll keep going up after #2 and #3. A lot of good news may have already been priced into the stock. There's the old saying "Buy the rumor, sell the news"...we'll see if that happens this time
