Nano is something small, micro.. For instance, cell phones use technology. If cell phones used nano technology, they would be realy, realy tiny..Take Care, Love and Light

I'll let one of the most famous scientists of the 20th century answer this one.

In 1959 Richard Feynman gave a talk entitled "There's Plenty of Room at the Bottom" wherein he talks about some of the problems and possibilities of nanotechnology. Many people see this as, if not a formal founding of, then at least an inspiration or precursor to the field of physics referred to as nanotechnology.

Nano technology is the science which deals with the particles of size measured in nano(10^-9) meters. Here you change the chemicals structurally right at the molecular level giving you the access to a set of entirely new properties...
